GENOVA ITINERARY

DAY 1 - ARRIVAL IN GENOVA

Genova

Welcome to Genova. This city, called La Superba (superb, magnificent) earned its fame from the XIII/XV century, where its maritime dominance was the most powerful in the mediterranean trade and conquests.

Here you'll start a journey of contrasts: different sides of a wonderful coin that will soon make absolute sense and will entangle you in facination for a unique location.

After the check-in at the hotel, dinner will be served and it will be your chance not only to meet the guide but to chat about the following days, plans and ask questions, if you have any.

Oh, and of course cuisine: local, typical and extremely tasty!

DAY 2 - FORTI DI GENOVA

Genova (Forti di Genova)

50km / 1700m + / 1700m -

The guide will pick you up at the hotel and it will be a ride from there. Working through the small alleys of the city, we'll soon move higher in the Righi area. A wonderful pelude. After a short coffee stop, we'll move away from the busy streets and in the belly of the Strada dei Forti: a selection of gravel tracks and single tracks connecting WW1 forts and barricades. Local trailbuilders have carved single tracks among them and we'll be spending all morning on them. One last descent and climb before hitting our restaurant spot and  battery-charging location. This typical osteria gift us a weeping view od city, port and sea.

The afternoon will be composed of one wonderful climb following ancient tran tracks up to the Santuario di Madonna della Guardia and a fantastic selection of single tracks all the way to Monte Gazzo. Finally back on the coast, we'll jump on the train and make our way back to the hotel for a perfect day-end.

DAY 3 - TRAVERSING WEST

Masone

50km / 1700m + / 2500m -

Don't be fooled by the location above: Genova will be the starting point but our journey will take us west today.

After your breakfast at the hotel, the van will pick you up and take us back to Monte Figogna (briefly seen the day prior). From this point the journey will begin: a masterful connection of single tracks, road bits and one, long jaw-dropping AltaVia traverse. This day will allow us to explore trails and nature on the high, west side of Genova kingdom. While venturing more in the inland, the quality of the riding will improve even more and landscape will shift from high-altitude mountain to beechwood forest to chestnut trees.

Lunch will be had in a wonderfull small restaurant above Masone. Still remembering the forst from the day before, we start our second part of the journey, reaching the highest point at Forte Geremia. From here, a massive, never-ending single track will take us closer and closer to the coast. Not all the way though: quick stop in Mele, known as the venue for the first Easy Downhill event and then all the way down to one of the little pearls of the city known as Parco della Duchessa di Galliera.

Trail back home again, after a very complete exploring and adventuring day.

DAY 4 - FASCE TO FORTE RATTI

Bavari

45km / 1400m + / 2000m -

This is a day of classics. Monte Fasce and Forte Ratti are, hands down, two of the most iconinc trail locations of the Genova area.

After a shuttle lift towards the top of Monte Fasce, we'll spend the morning playing on its different sides, always overlooking the sea and the city from a pretty priviledged perspective. The viwe from the antennas is possibly unbeatable. Trails today will be slightly more on the technical side: from ancient donkey paths to rolling traverses, variety will be queen of the morning. last trail before lunch will be Eremita and one quick road climb qill get us to the Osteria of the day. No need to charge batteries today.

After a smooth climb well soon be on a whole different side of the valley heading up towards forte Ratti. Views today are insane and this won't disappoint. We'll ride through th Fort itself and down, all the way through old watcj towers, smooth single-tracks and, soon, back in the buzz of a never-resting city.

The shuttle (or a quick pedal) will take us back to the hotel.

DAY 5 - PEGLI FREESTYLE

Pegli

25km / 900m + / 900m -

A day to rest and enjoy the italian lifestyle? Sure. A day to squeeze a little E-Ride as well? Definitely!

We'll be happy to suggest multiple activities given our guests, at this point, have always found it very easy to take time for themselves and find ways to best spend their time. On the other hand, we want to give all the opportunities to ride during this very trail-driven trip. The guide will be available (for who would like to) to squeeze a quick half-day ride on the trails of the Pegli trail area.

Important: this day will also work as a buffer day. The guide will keep you informed in the previous days in case the riding schedule had to be shifted because of bad weather or other.

DAY 6 - GENOVA TO ANTOLA

Antola (Parco Naturale)

30km / 1500m + / 1000m -

Here starts the first of our 2-day adventure into the adventure. Genova has easy access to some of the most stunning natural parks of the region. Something like Parco delle Capanne di Marcarolo, or, in this case, Parco Naturale dell'Antola. We'll start our day with a shuttle stransfer to Traso and, from there, a long connection to the town of Torriglia will get us closer to our final destination. We designed this day to finish in one breathtaking location: Rifugio Antola. This hut at 1300m on the sea level offers a one-of-a-kind view of the coast and the inland together. Being able to experience such a ride, night and accommodation is a blessing.

This day will be supported a bit more by the shuttle which will help the group connecting some location smoothly.

One last traverse will take us to the top of Monte Antola and one last descent, then, to the hut for the night

DAY 7 - ANTOLA TO PORTO ANTICO

Genova (Porto Antico)

55km / 900m + / 2200m -

What a better way to finish if not ending on the sea on the last day? Well, this is exactly it...even better actually. After having breakfast overlooking the sun rising from the horizon far in the distance while the light touches crests and valleys leading to the sea, the last day awaits.

The last day designed to pack a punch. Pretty simple actually: one long traverse down from the border to Piedmont, all the way to Porto Antico in Genova.

Not many words can describe this unique experience.

After this ling, full day, it is time to take one last shuttle back to the hotel, shower, pack bikes up and, once it’s dinner time,  toast to the fabulous experiences of the past week. Now with friends we've met or recently found.
