Lac de Roselend - Col de Voza

37km / 1450m + / 1800m -

After a substantial breakfast we immediately get into the heart of our second day of adventure. A first climb on a dirt road to the Col de la Sauce and a breathtaking crest in front of the Mont Blanc will take us to the Refuge du Col de la Croix du Bonhomme. A well deserved break. From this point, the following two hours will be dedicated to pure alpine single-track: technical rock parts, steep sections, pedaled bits and, some occasional cheers from some hikers on the route. Lunch at the bottom of the valley before tackling the last climb on a dirt road between mountain pastures up to Col de Voza, our stay for the second night.

From col to col, through the beautiful Chamonix valley, the other side of the Mont Blanc chain, a place of passion, adventure, love for the mountains and a centuries-old history of conquest. After a unique downhill path hand-built on soft earth, roots and pine needles up to Les Houches, we will cross the entire valley stopping in town for lunch. We will end the day with two chairlift rides up to the hyper-panoramic Col de Balme, also the border with Switzerland.

DAY 5 - WELCOME TO SWITZERLAND

Col de Balme - La Fouly

40km / 1650m + / 2300m -

Today we start to turn the corner and head towards home. Two natural and steep single-tracks descents will be the focus of the day. In order to reach them, as you will know by now, two challenging climbs will need to be ridden. All of this, however, framed by a valley that couldn't feel more Swiss. Not everyone can say they have cycled in a postcard. You'll be able to do it. We will discover a steep and majestic side of Mont Blanc, in the presence of a reigning Aiguille des Glaciers.

DAY 6 - BREATHTAKING CONCLUSION

La Fouly - Courmayeur

40km / 1900m + / 2200m -

The day starts towards home. The legs are tired from four days of riding but the anticipation of the most beautiful day of the tour makes everything clearer. After a long climb towards the Grand Col Ferret (2490m) we are back in Italy. Here is Val Ferret opening up before us and the exact line we will follow for the rest of the day shows clearly. Next stop: Rifugio Bonatti for lunch. And from here a long single-track to reach 2650m. The day ends with exactly 1 hour of flowy and, at times, steep downhill trail. The past five days seem like a month of time spent between valleys and majestic peaks.

Once it’s dinner time, what better opportunity to meet up in front of a plate of Polenta Concia or fondue and toast to the fabulous experiences of the past week. Now with friends we've met or recently found.
